The Walled Garden ~ A potted history
Over a century ago, our lovely walled garden was a kitchen garden supplying fruit and vegetables to a small mansion.
Three very high brick walls protected half an acre of productive beds, an orchard, two heated greenhouses and a potting shed.
Over the years the garden fell into disuse. Much work was required to clear the site, rebuild the walls, terrace the most sloping section and of course rebuild the potting shed!
Let's fast forward to 2006 when the Stone Ness Garden Project was born. Volunteers, donations, grants and encouragement from new friends who saw the garden's potential enabled us to open our doors and welcome our first gardening client in autumn 2009.
Like all gardens we are constantly evolving and garden using organic principles where possible
